Trees, Planning & Development

If you are planning a development project with trees on your site then you may need the assistance of an arboriculturist. You might be constructing an extension to your existing property or building a whole new housing estate, either way if you have trees on or around your site, you'll need a tree report to accompany your planning application.

Arboricultural Constraints Assessment (ACA)

A tree survey at the start of a project is important before the design begins. The tree survey records the condition of trees as per the British Standard 5837:2012 'Trees in relation to design, demolition and construction - recommendations'.

This survey enables us to produce an Arboricultural Constraints Assessment (ACA) and Tree Constraints Plan (TCP) which identifies the trees that should be retained and trees that are not worthy of retention. The Root Protection Areas (RPAs) and crown spreads  are clearly shown so they can be avoided in the design.

Arboricultural Impact Assessment (AIA)

Once the design of the site is finished, an Arboricultural Impact Assessment (AIA) can be produced. This report accompanies the planning application and includes the impact to trees from the proposed development.

A Tree Protection Plan (TPP) is produced as part of the report to identify how trees will be protected during construction.

Arboricultural Method Statement (AMS)

Where construction activity is allowed to commence near trees, special measures are often required to ensure they aren't damaged. An arboricultural method statement is produced to detail how the special building requirements are carried out and the materials that will be required.
A Tree Protection Plan (TPP) is produced as part of the report to identify how trees will be protected during construction.

Site Monitoring & Supervision

Sits visits are required to check the position of tree protection measures and oversee construction works when working inside of Root Protection Areas (RPAs).
